1. Three months preparation time

• A little backpack had to be thrown of in Heidelberg
• Since Luzern ( Switzerland) no more winter clothes, several layers of summer clothes make me unmovable
• Jugendherberge in Genua geschlossen, bei der Suche nach anderer Bleibe eingekeilt zwischen Bauzaun und Kirchenwand
• Youth hostel in Genua closed. During the search of an other accomodation i got stuck between a church and a construction fence
• Ferry boat: only 7 cars and one motorbike, no tourist on bord

2. Libya:

• Suddenly rear break went off, flat tire in three seconds
• Three weeks with a Tuareg in the Lybian desert
• My guide does not speak any of my languages
• We cooked together over the open fire and ate together from one plate
• Sand storm, 14 hours under the blanket
• My guide is gone, a few months ago people were kidnapped in this area
• 10.000 year old rock paintings

3. Egypt:

• Two and a half weeks waiting for the motorbike in Alexandria
• Visiting the burial chambers in the pyramids without electricity
• Ten hours convoy driving with the police
• Visiting the cultural highlights in Luxor
• Ferry boat ride on the Nasser lake to Sudan

4. Sudan:

• People very poor, but friendly
• Short cut through the desert, a sand storm appears, we can not see our hand infront of our own eyes, not enough water on bord
• Got stuck with a ferry boat on the Nile river
• Sleep on a filling station direct next to a petrol pump

5. North Ethoipia:

• Cultural shock, from the Muslim world to the Christian world
• 200 people surround my bike
• Once in the while the police hit the people away with a stick
• Three months eating with the hands ( Injera)
• See a 600 year old bible. Protection against the sun with an umbrella
• Crash from seven meter high on a rock formation
• Accident someone runs in my motorbike

6. Ethiopia:

• Excursion with three Israelis to the hotest desert in the world
• Motorbike is not allowed to drive on the Awash bridge, loaded on a truck
• I do not recognize the capital of the Afar region, in the second attempt we find it
• Three o clock in the morning we start for the crossing of the Danakil depression
• A flooding should stop our journey
• We are going around the water
• Temperature 51 degrees
• The chief of the Afar wants more money for climbing vulcano Erte Ale, we refuse
• Visit of the lowest point of the desert, 116 meters

7. Southern Ethiopia:

• Nature people ( Hamer, Konso)
• Special cemetary
• At the breakfeast we wonder about the different cultures
• The exit is difficult, the visa is expired for 35 days
• Exit via goat tracks with a local guide

8. Kenya:

• Engine break down, priest Florian welded the engine
• The journey continues with crashes and break downs
• On the second day I was rescued by an ambulance
• Celebration of a new born child
• With priest Tony in an UNIMOG through North Kenya
• Reparation of the motorbike in Nairobi
• Someone steels my passport and the drivers licence

9. Tansania, Uganda, Ruanda, Burundi, Sambia:

• Four Germans singing a song in German, afterwards 500 people sing the same song in Kisuaheli
• Relaxation in Sansibar, swimming with the dolphins
• Abseiling 100 meters deep near a waterfall
• Sightseeing of the mountain gorillas
• Electricity short cuts in Kigali
• Genocid in Ruanda
• Crossing rebel region in Burundi
• Trip on a one hundred year old ship on lake Tanganika
• Swimming on the Vic falls

10. Botswana, Namibia:

• Bye bye of "Black Africa"
• My first elefant herd infront of the motorbike

11. Southern Africa:

• Transport on a vegetable truck to Cape Town

• Lesotho: six hours on the back of a horse
